1. Will other participants in our company OnPAS be able to see a project that they are not directly involved in?
No. Every project will have a specified set of participants who will be the only ones allowed to view the project and all its notes,
tasks, action items.
2. Is it possible to encrypt the OnPAS (https) like the banks are doing?
Yes, for as long as the server supports SSL encryption. If the customer requires this extra level of security, we can implement the
OnPAS such that the only change needed would be to call all pages via "https://www...." instead of the usual "http://www....". The
only drawback to using SSL is that transactions tend to be slower due to the extra encryption/decryption process done.
3. Will my company receive a back-up CD-ROM on a regular basis?
Yes, if so desired, we can provide this extra service for a nominal fee. We can also provide you with FTP access to allow you to
backup your uploaded files as often as desired.
4. What if I forget my login password?
The designated Administrator for the customer can be requested to reset your password directly. We recommend this manual
procedure versus the automatic password retreival alternatives as an extra level of security against those who are simply trying to
compromise another person\'s login permissions.
5. How do you ensure your servers from being hacked?
Our servers are monitored continuously so that any interuption of service is detected within 15 minutes at the latest. The servers also
utilize the latest software versions and patches to ensure that security exposures are minimized.
6. What does it cost if we want you to add special features?
This would depend on the features needed, but rest assured that we keep IT affordable.
7. Can we host OnPAS on our own servers.
Yes, however we would have to protect our rights to the software code. To do so, we would have to use a 3rd-party product to
encode our program. This would account for the higher costs to you if you choose to take this purchase option.
8. What is the advantage of having our OnPAS located on philscan.com's servers?
First of all, we use dedicated servers located in high-availability facilities in the United States. This setup gives you the best value for your money as it frees you from high operational costs of running a server 24hours, 7 days a week.
Secondy, we backup data on our servers on a daily basis, so if anything goes wrong, we can restore the service with minimal impact
to you.
Lastly, you are assured of high-performance as our servers sit on the backbone of the internet.
9. Can I send e-mails to OnPAS?
No. Emails are sent out from OnPAS as reminders only. Users would have to log-in to the system in order to add any updates to the
system. This approach adds a level of security to the application as emails can easily be forged.
10. How do I delete notes, suggestions etc..?
One of the main advantages of using OnPAS is that it provides an audit trail of activities. We intentionally do not allow the deletion of
items in the system so as to ensure that this audit trail cannot be broken. If and when an error was made during an update, the user is
encouraged to just re-submit his input saying that an error was made in the previous entry.
11. Can I change spreadsheets or word documents uploaded?
Yes and no. Yes, because you can download the file to your computer and edit it as much as you want. No, because the changes
you did will not be seen on OnPAS unless you upload your updated file to the system. This approach gives OnPAS participants a
way to see multiple versions of a document or spreadsheet as it is modified.
12. Is it possible to make a project plan and revise the same?
In the future, we will incorporate calendaring facilities into OnPAS that will give this functionality.
13. How do I enable a new participant to a project?
Management-level users of OnPAS will have the ability to add participants to a project at any time.
14. What software is needed by users of OnPAS?
The beauty of OnPAS is that it does not require any special software on the side of the clients as it only requires the use of a web
browser such as Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator. In addition to being easy to use, OnPAS is also easy to update as
changes on the server side are immediately seen on the user side.
15. But we already use a Project Management software in the office - why use OnPAS?
OnPAS fulfills a need that is not met by current PC-based project management systems:
a. Email reminders and notices are automatically sent-out by OnPAS.
b. OnPAS is groupware enabled, facilitating team effort on projects.
c. OnPAS is accessible from anywhere on the planet, using an ordinary internet web browser. This means that participants can
manage their projects without even being on their own computer.
